The Gifts of Music celebrates Music In Our Schools Month with ‘Grant and Gifts’

March is Music in Our Schools month and The Gifts of Music is celebrating by offering a terrific “Grant and Gifts” package to one lucky music teacher in the state. School music educators are encouraged to submit a grant application, which is available on the organization’s website at www.thegiftsofmusic.org.

“The Gifts of Music was founded five years ago in order to support music education opportunities for Maine youth,” explains its founder Susan Patten. “A robust music education is so important, and TGOM wants to recognize the amazing effort and commitment of Maine music educators throughout the state by offering this grant opportunity.”

The grant application deadline is Saturday, March 21, 2015. The TGOM Board will convene Monday March 23, 2015 to determine a winner.

The Gifts of Music “Grant and Gifts” package includes the following: $350 cash grant to winning school music educator’s program; one professionally refurbished instrument for school band or string program; $200 gift card from Mark’s Music in Brewer; $200 Photo Session with Bell Imaging and Design, LLC; Gift Certificate from Bangor Symphony Orchestra for concert tickets. The Gifts of Music is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that relies solely on donations from individuals, businesses and foundations to execute its mission of supporting music education for Maine youth.
