Drake White coming to Gracie Theatre

BANGOR, MAINE- During the middle of December, country singer, Drake White announced his first- ever headlining tour. Drake and his band (Drake White First on the list is the Gracie Theatre, here in Bangor, Maine. This is the only college he is attending.Coming this saturday, for students and the public to attend. Tickets range from $20 to $75.

Throughout the tour,  Drake will perform many songs off his recent album called “Spark” including the new single “Makin’ Me Look Good Again.”  This is Drake’s first album. It charted at No. 4 on the Top Country Albums chart. Drake told Billboard.com,The idea of starting a fire from a tiny spark has always been so intriguing to me. That’s the way I have always lived my life; starting with a small plan and then it becomes this dream I didn’t even know to dream.” The new artist very much appeals to the younger generation that favors country music. Drake embraces gospel, blues and soul. The “Spark” album cover tells the story of who Drake is other than an artist. It visually shows him as an artist, husband and native-Alabamian. The silhouette  pictures show his wife, Alex, his hometown church where his grandfather served as a preacher, his dog Writer and other mementos.  

Drake was recently nominated for CBS.com’s Artist of Tomorrow by former teammates Zac Brown Band.  Drake toured with Zac Brown Band during September till November 2015. He was the opening act for 10 stadiums, arenas and amphitheaters. “I’m a big fan,” White tells Taste of Country of Brown and his band, “and ultimately I wanna do what he does. I wanna pack out arenas every night.”

Fan’s can vote for Drake for a chance to perform for Grammy’s Live on February 12, which leads up to the 2017 Grammy Awards, where he could perform. A few other stops Drake is going to make on his tour include: Florida, California, North Carolina and Ohio.

“I am really into country music. I have never heard much of him until he played with Zac Brown. Should be a pretty good time.”

Drake is a native from Hokes, Bluff Alabama. He graduated from Hokes Bluff High School. When he was just 14 he started writing his thoughts down. These thoughts would eventually become his song lyrics. He started singing when he was asked to join the youth choir at First Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff by his parents. He soon realized he had a talent. After high school, he attending  Gadsden State Community College then went to Auburn University graduating with a degree in building science. Right after college he got a job as a general contractor in Tennessee before quitting that job and pursuing a career in music. He and his band have been the opening act for musicians as Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Lynard Skynard, Tyler Bryant, and Channing Wilson.
