BANGOR, Maine – Tickets went on sale Tuesday, February 26th, at 10 AM in the Husson University Student Activities Office, 104A Peabody Hall, for a Boston Celtics trip on March 24th against the San Antonio Spurs. Tickets were $40 a piece and include a ticket to the game and transportation to and from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The event is sold out. Transportation will leave Husson at 2 PM for the 7:30 Sunday night game.

“A big part of the trip is round trip coach transportation with Cyr Bus Line,” said Sterling Pingree, Director of Husson University Student Activities.

Sterling Pingree will also be driving the Cyr Bus with his newly acquired Class-D license. He will take care of parking, gas, and navigating during the entirety of the trip.

“It totally spoils you for every other experience because they drop us off at the door of the [TD] Garden. Then we come out and they pick us up [after the game]. There’s our bus, ready and waiting,” Pingree said.

Students are expected to reach the TD Garden an hour-and-a-half before the game. Students should expect to be back on the campus of Husson University around three in the morning.

The 40 tickets are located on the Promenade Level.

“It’s what I call, the poor man’s luxury box,” said Pingree. “You have your own bathrooms up there. It’s one row of folding chairs around the top of the arena. You have a great vantage point for the game and you have plenty of room.”

Students attending the game can choose to stand the whole or part of the time while watching the game. There are also tables for them to put things atop.

“It [the Promenade Level] has been incredibly popular with our students. We [Husson Student Activites] did it last year for the Celtics trip and we did a few years before that as well. It has been a winner for us,” said Pingree.

Husson Student Activites has been bringing students to a Celtics game annually for around four to five years.

Other than the sporting event itself, one of the most rewarding parts of trips like these is hearing the students reactions for Pingree.

“To see the ones that go for the first time or go once every five years; it’s this monumental trip,” Pingree said. “It’s like going to see a movie with someone who has a great sense of humor and you go and see a comedy. The harder they laugh, the harder you laugh.”

The Celtics who are 37-25 on the day of the published article and are struggling as of late. They have lost six of their last eight games since their dramatic loss to the Los Angeles Lakers at home on February seventh.

The Spurs are 34-29 on the day of this published article. The team from San Antion, Texas, snapped a three-game losing streak last night against the Detriot Pistons 105-93 at home. It was the Spurs first home game since February second.

The two teams have storied histories and have numerous fans on either side.

“It’s just the opportunity to go see their [the students] favorite teams and making it as easy as possible,” Pingree said. “You can’t afford not to do it.”
