From softball to dancing, skiing to lacrosse, the Bangor Parks and Recreation Department has some excellent offerings in the coming months.
Adult Softball
The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department is looking for teams for its upcoming Summer Adult Softball League. The available leagues are Mens which play Mondays & Thursdays, Church which plays on Tuesdays and Co-ed which play Wednesdays and Fridays. The fee is $750 per team with at least half paid by April 10 and balance paid one week prior to season. Youth Lacrosse
The Bangor Parks and Recreation, along with Eastern Maine Youth Lacrosse will be offering a Youth Lacrosse program. It will encompass 3rd grade through high school. The fee for this is $85 and only $75 if registered by March 25. Limited equipment rental is available for $30. Mother and Son Mother’s Day Dance
The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department still has tickets available for its annual Mother and Son Mother’s Day Dance on Friday, May 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Cross Insurance Center, Grand Ballroom. This wonderful night will be filled with fun, prizes, snacks and memories for moms and their sons. This event is open to all Mothers and their sons in grades K-7. If you are a Bangor Resident the fee is $20 per couple and only $30 for non-residents. Each additional son is only $5. If mom can’t make it, a grandmother, an aunt, older sister or another special female would make a great date for this evening. To register, come in to the Parks and Recreation office at 647 Main St. No phone registrations will be accepted and no tickets will be available at the door. Discount Sugarloaf Tickets
Bangor Parks and Recreation is offering discount lift tickets to Sugarloaf Mountain. Available are one-day tickets for March 21 and two-day tickets for March 21 and 22. Meet in the King Pine Room between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. on March 21 to pick up a ticket from a Parks and Recreation staff. One-day adult tickets are $48, young adults (6-18) $38 and seniors (65+) $38. You can make it a two-day trip (no lodging included) with tickets being $94 for an adult, and $74 for young adults/seniors. Equipment rentals are available at the Parks and Recreation office for $27, or there are rentals available at the mountain for an extra fee.
