Threats Cause Lockdown at Bangor Schools

BANGOR, Maine- A fictitious social media account was to blame for a lockdown that sent all Bangor schools into lockdown on Wednesday morning. The social media account made threats to James F. Doughty School on Fifth Street and Bangor High School on Broadway.

Students learned about the threats in the morning and told the officers and the officers made the decision to put all the schools into lockdown.

As of tonight, a 13-year-old student of the Bangor School System has been arrested and charged with terrorizing which is a Class C Felony. The case will be presented to the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office.
