BANGOR, Maine – As the clock hit zero in the fourth quarter from Tuesday night; the Cross Insurance Center employees took apart the basketball court for the final time in the winter time after the Harlem Globetrotters entertained the fans on Tuesday night. The basketball court that saw non-stop action from the beginning of November to around the end of March. The basketball court that the University of Maine women’s team almost upset a nationally ranked team. The basketball court that saw high school athletes become high school legend by winning a gold ball. The basketball court that saw the Black Bears women’s team win their second straight American East Championship.
“It’s a really, really tough environment to play in,” Hartford freshman guard Sierra DaCosta told the Bangor Daily News after the Hawks lost the Championship game to the Black Bears on March 15th.
